"Arnav. No! Stay away!" Khushi said backing up against
the car.
"No what Khushi?" he asked innocently only about two feet away from her.
"Don't you dare throw that at me!" she said with her back no completely against the car. Arnav moved closer so that now his body was against hers.
"Khushi you threw a snowball at me, so now you have to pay for it," Arnav said.
"Arnav please! I'm in a dress and already feel cold," Khushi said pouting her lips. Arnav was so tempted to kiss her right there, right then. But he would have to control himself since he didn't want to force himself on her.
"Well I didn't tell you to wear a dress today, did I?" Arnav said grinning.
"No. But I'm freezing right now and that," Khushi said looking at the snowball in his hand, "will only make it worse. I promise I'll do anything for you if don't throw that at me." she said.
"Anything?" Arnav asked raising his eyebrow.
"Yea anything," Khushi said hurriedly.
"Promise," Arnav said extending his hand to shake it with hers.
"Arnav this is no business deal that you have to shake hands with me," Khushi said smiling.
"I know, but I don't want you to go back on your word," Arnav said.
"Khushi Kumari Gupta never goes back on her word," Khushi said and shook her hand with his.
"Great," Arnav said dropping the snowball on the ground and then unlocked the car form the passenger side. He stepped aside to let Khushi in. Khushi sat in the car; Arnav closed the door and sat in from the driver's side.
"So what do I have to do?" Khushi asked while Arnav drove to the mall.
"Nothing yet, I'll tell you when the time comes," Arnav said.
"Hmm," Khushi said and stared out the window. Khushi took off her coat.
"Why did you do that, I thought you were just freezing outside," Arnav said looking at her.
"I WAS freezing, not anymore," Khushi said smiling.
"Pagal hai ye," Arnav muttered to himself.
"Tum ne kuch kaha?" Khushi asked.
"Nahi to," Arnav replied.
They arrived at the mall and the parking lot was packed. They managed to find a spot and Arnav parked the car there. Arnav got out from his side and opened the door for Khushi.
"Thanks," she said stepping out of the car. Arnav closed the door behind her and locked the car.
"This is so big!" Khushi said while they entered that mall.
"Yea it is. One of the biggest malls around here," Arnav said walking beside her.
"So what all do we need to get?" Khushi asked.
Arnav took out his phone and looked at the text Maan had sent him.
"Well we need to get a gift for Maan and Geet," Arnav said, "And there are about 8 other people coming in the morning."
"And its fifty fifty, so how about you get the ones for the girls, and I'll get the ones for the guys," Arnav said.
"Ok," Khushi said.
"I'll text you when I'm done so then we can meet up," Arnav said, "And here's my credit card."
"Arnav but..." Khushi started saying.
"But nothing Khushi. They are my friends and don't know you. So I'll pay for everything that we are going to gift them," Arnav said putting the card in her hand.
"Fine, but Geet is my friend also, so I'll at least pay for her," Khushi said.
"Fine," Arnav said. Khushi went one way and Arnav went the other. Khushi went from shop to shop but couldn't find anything interesting. Finally she decided on a jewelry set for Geet and some other gifts for the other girls. She was going to go find Arnav, when she got an idea and decided to stop at another store before texting him.
Arnav on the other hand had already finished shopping for the guys. He was walking across the mall, when a something on display at one of the stores caught his eye. He walked back a few steps and glanced at it. After standing there for a few minutes, he went inside and bought it. After paying for it and buying something else also, he walked out of the store and got a text from Khushi:
I'm done shopping, how about you?
Arnav replied back:
I'm done also; meet me at the food court that's in the front of the entrance to the mall.
Arnav took the elevator down. He noticed Khushi's back towards the direction he was coming from.
"Shall we go?" Arnav asked and Khushi turned around.
"Yea," Khushi said. They both walked outside, it was also getting very late and was dark outside.
"Khushi give me your bags, I'll put them in the car. You wait here while I bring the car around and I'll pick you up from here," Arnav said. Khushi handed him the bags carefully making sure he didn't see what was in any of them. He took the bags and walked towards the car.
Khushi stood their at the entrance of the mall waiting for Arnav to put the bags in the car and come back for her. It was pretty dark outside, and not many people were out on the streets because of the holiday.
"What a girl she is," Khushi heard a voice from behind her. She turned around to find a group of guys that were looking at her, a few of them drunk.
"Yea, do you think she's available at night?" another guy asked.
"Looks like it, why else would she be here at this time, all alone," Khushi felt disgusted by the way they were talking about her. She started walking away slowly but she heard footsteps behind her and noticed they were also following her. Khushi was getting worried with the way they were approaching her, where was Arnav.
Arnav drove the car around to the front of the mall but didn't find Khushi there. Where was this crazy girl now? He looked around and finally spotted her walking away. Here he was bringing a car around for her but she was walking away, he thought. This girl was definitely crazy. He slowly drove his car towards her direction and noticed a group of drunken guys following her. Arnav felt anger build up inside him.
Khushi started speeding up a little bit but the guys behind her started moving even faster. She turned around and stopped.
"Where are you going to go now?" a guy said moving close to her.
"Don't come near me...'" Khushi said backing up, "'...or else...'"
"Or else what? Huh? What are you going to do?" a guy said.
Arnav got out of his car and noticed that Khushi had stopped and was now talking to the men. What was wrong with this girl? He thought. They could do anything to her right now and she was standing their chatting away.
He slowly moved towards their direction without making much noise, to make sure they wouldn't notice her.
A guy went forward and touched Khushi, before he could even do anything else she kicked him in the face making his fall back with full force. Three more men came forward and Khushi quickly took out a bottle of pepper spray and sprayed it on them. "AHH!" they screamed clutching their eyes.
Khushi felt movement behind her and something covered her mouth. She grabbed the hand, then pulled it over her head and locked it behind his back. The man's eyes widened and pain was clearly visible on his face.
"Black belt. Karate. Think about that before you try to mess with another girl," she said letting go of him. She looked back at the other men and smiled; they all got up quickly and scurried away. She went over and picked up her coat, but it was of no use now since it had gotten ripped due to the thorn bush it was laying on. She turned around and faced an Arnav who was standing a few feet away from her with a surprised expression; his eyes wide, eyeborws raised and mouth slightly open.
"No what Khushi?" he asked innocently only about two feet away from her.
