Chapter 15: Moving Her Closer

Arnav was about to leave the room but stopped at the door and looked back at Khushi, "By the way Ms. Gupta, just to let you know, I'll eagerly be waiting for your consent to the relationship," he winked at her and then walked out of the room

*At Khushi's house*

"How was work beta?" Garima asked

"It was good Mom. I have to tell you something," Khushi said

"What is it," Garima said

"You know that the Holiday Fashion Show that was supposed to be next week, well it's been moved to earlier so I will have to leave for London tomorrow," Khushi said

"Tomorrow? But isn't that too early? You won't have enough time to pack," Garima said

"Yeah, but Arnav let me have the day off tomorrow so I can pack, and he said he'll pick me in time for the flight," Khushi said

"What time is the flight at?" her dad asked as he walked into the kitchen

"The flights at 8, but he said he's come pick me up at 7" Khushi said

"So you won't be here for Christmas?" asked Payal who was coming down the stairs.

"I guess not," Khushi said slightly disappointed

"But can't you leave a few days later? Just till after Christmas is over?" Payal asked

"No, we can't. The show just got moved to earlier days today," Khushi said

"Aww, but we're going to miss you," Payal said and went to grab her keys

"Yes we will, and where are you going Payal?" Garima said

"Oh, I'm just going with Akash to choose the theme for the wedding cards. I'll be back in a few hours," she said and walked out.

*At Arnav's House*

"Di, Nani I'm leaving for London tomorrow. The fashion show has been moved to earlier," Arnav said after he finished his dinner.

"When are you coming back?" Nani asked him

"Either January 2nd or the 3rd, not sure yet," Arnav said

"So Chotte, you're not going to be here for New Years?" Anjali asked him

"No Di, actually you remember Maan right?" Arnav said

"Yea," Anjali said

"Well he married his now current wife her in India, but they moved to London a few years back and have invited me to stay with them while I'm there and stay for a New Year's Party that they are having there," Arnav said.

"Well that's great you're going to see him after so long," Nani said and went to go sleep. Soon everyone else left also and Arnav went to his room to start packing.

*Next day at Khushi's house - afternoon*

"Jiji!!! Have you seen my black boots?!" Khushi yelled while looking through her closet.

"They're in the box under your bed!!" Payal yelled from her room. Khushi looked under her bed and found them. Payal walked into her room carrying a small box wrapped in green paper with a gold bow on it.

"This is your Christmas present from me, don't open it till Christmas, okay?" Payal said handing her the box. Khushi went near her dressing table, opened the first cabinet and took out a present, "And here is yours, you don't open it till Christmas either."

Just then Khushi heard the doorbell ring. She looked up at the clock and noticed it was only 6:30 and she wasn't even done packing. She heard Arnav's voice downstairs and before she could start panicking about not finished packing yet, she got a text:

I know I'm early, don't worry just take your time finish packing and then come downstairs.

Khushi read the message and smiled to herself and then thought of what had happened yesterday between the two. How Arnav had confessed that he liked her and how she had told him that she needed time. That was the truth. She was starting to get use to his company and thought he was a really nice guy. She just needed to get to know him better and hopefully that would change while they were in London.  Khushi quickly glanced around her room and made sure she had packed everything she needed. She put on a sweater since it was a bit chilly outside and her coat in her handbag since it was supposed to be snowing in London at this time of the year. She tied her hair in a ponytail, put a scarf around her neck and made her way down the stairs with her suitcase.

When she walked into the living room, Arnav and her dad were in a conversation with each other. Arnav heard the sound of her boots against the wooden floor and turned around to see her in front of him.

"Hey," he said, "You look nice."

"Hi, thanks. You don't look bad yourself either," she said looking at Arnav. He wasn't wearing a business suit today, and was instead dressed in casuals.

"So shall we leave?" he asked her

"Yea, hold on," Khushi said and went to hug her parents

"Call us when you reach there," her mother and father told her

"Ok, I will," Khushi said

"And good luck Arnav," Sashi told Arnav.

"Thanks Uncle," Arnav said. Khushi found this a bit weird since her dad didn't really talk much to Arnav the last time he had come and kind of avoided him, but she just shrugged the thought out of her mind.

"Here I'll take your stuff," Arnav said and grabbed the suitcase from Khushi

"Thanks," she said and walked next to him towards his car. Arnav opened the door for her and Khushi sat inside. Her went to the back of the car and put her things in the trunk. He then went over to his side of car, sat inside and started driving.

"Have your passport?" he asked

"Yea," she said

"The files I gave you yesterday?" he asked

"Yea," she said

"Design Portfolio," he asked

"Yea," she said

"Luggage?" he asked

"Yea," she said

"Flight tickets?" he asked

"Yea," she said

"Can I kiss you?" he asked

"Ye'WHAT?!" she exclaimed and looked up at him

"Well, you were saying yes to all the answers, so I thought I might as well give it a try," Arnav said and looked at her with a smile.

"Ha ha. Very funny," she said

"No, but I was serious," he said looking at her

"No," was all she said

"But why?" he asked

"Arnav you're my boss, this wouldn't right," she said

"And I thought we were friends'," he said trying to sound disappointed

"Arnav you know what I mean," Khushi said

"So if I wasn't your boss, you would?" he asked

"Arnav I've already told you, I need time to think about this," she said while Arnav pulled up into the parking lot of the airport. He got out and removed their things from the back, "Well, we have a 7 hour flight to London, so take that time to think over it and decide," he told her with a smirk.

Arnav put their luggage on a trolley and moved inside the airport while Khushi followed. Arnav went to check in while Khushi sat in the waiting area.

"Sir, here are your boarding passes," the lady said and handed him two boarding passes. Arnav looked at the passes and asked the lady, "Excuse me. Could you please change the seats so we are seated next to each other."

"Sorry sir, but that isn't possible. You are seated in Business Class, while Ma'am is seated in Economy Class," the lady said.

"Is it possible to move her up to Business as well?" Arnav asked

"Hold on Sir, let me check," the lady said and picked up her phone. After a few minutes of talking, she printed off new boarding passes and handed them to him, "Here you go Sir, she has been moved to Business class and your seats are next to each other."

"Thank you," Arnav said taking the passes from her and moving towards Khushi. The announcement to board the business class was made, "Khushi lets go," Arnav said.

"Yea, you go. I'm seated in economy class so they will call us later," Khushi said

"Khushi I've gotten you moved to business class with me, so you are sitting next to me. Come on, let's go," Arnav said and started moving towards the gate.

"But why did you move my seat?" Khushi asked following him

"Because I'm Arnav Singh Raizada, and I can," Arnav said and grabbed hold of her hand pulling her alongside him.

"Because I'm Arnav Singh Raizada and I can. Huh uh huh," Khushi said imitating him

"I heard that," Arnav said smiling while her looked at her

"Great! Because you were supposed to hear that," Khushi replied back angrily only making Arnav's smile grow bigger.
