"Oh, sounds like someone's sleepy. I'll see you tomorrow
and goodnight," Arnav said
"Goodnight," Khushi said while drifting off into
sleep
*Next Morning*
"Chotte! Open the door!" Anjali said knocking on his door loudly.
"Coming Di," Arnav said pulling the comforter
off himself and slowly making his way to the door while rubbing his eyes. He
opened the door and leaned against the wall, "What's the
problem?"
"What's the problem?! You're asking me what the problem is?" Anjali said while pushing him aside to enter his room.
"Yea Di...I think you did hear me correctly I said
'what's the problem?'" Arnav said and stood next to Di. Anjali rolled her
eyes.
"Have you read today's newspaper today?" Anjali asked
"No, I just woke up. Why?" Arnav asked
"Here, read it.." Anjali said putting the newspaper in his hands. Arnav opened it and read the headline on the front page, "Arnav Singh Raizada with a woman at restaurant."
Arnav looked below it and there was a picture of him and
Khushi dancing. Arnav was glad that only his face was visible and Khushi's face
was to the other side. No one would know it was her, making it less
informative to the public.
"Yeah Di, what about it?" Arnav asked looking back up at his sister
"What?! Who is this girl that you went on a date with?" Anjali asked
"Di it wasn't a date, I just wanted to thanks her from something and apologize to her," Arnav said handing the paper back to his sister.
"It wasn't a date? Are you kidding me? Look how closely you are holding her in the picture. Her hands full of bangles are resting on your shoulders, and your hands are around her waist. Of course something is probably going on," Anjali said
"Di it's nothing like that. I don't even know if she likes me or not. We're just good friends," Arnav said
"Chotte, ek ladka aur ladki kabhi ache dost nahi ho sakte," Anjali said
"Di, you're filmy dialogue's not gonna work on me," Arnav said
"How do you know it's from a film? Huh? Which one?" Arnjali asked teasing him
"Maine Pyar Kiya," Arnav said
"Kisse?" Anjali asked wiggling her eyebrow up and down at him with a smile on her face.
Arnav groaned and brushed his hands through his hair, his sister was such a bollywood freak.
"Ok ok," Anjali said noticing that her brother's anger was rising, "I won't bother you about it anymore until you want to talk to me."
"Yea whatever," Arnav said trying to ignore the conversation
Anjali went to go downstairs, but stopped at the door and turned around to look back at her brother, "Chotte do you like her?"
"I don't know Di, maybe. I'm really unsure of everything right now," Arnav said. And he wasn't lying this time. He did feel attracted towards Khushi, she made everyone around her happy, she was nice, not one of those stuck up bitches that gossiped 24/7 and she was actually really beautiful.
Anjali walked out of his room and closed the door behind her. Arnav got ready, had breakfast and made his way to office.
=====================================
Khushi woke up and realized that it was her first day at
office today. She quickly got up, got ready and made her way downstairs to get
ready.
At the kitchen table, Payal was already there eating her breakfast. Her mother was in the kitchen cleaning up, and she assumed that her dad had probably gone for a walk like he did every other day.
Khushi sat down and started eating her bagel. She took the newspaper that was sitting in the middle of the table and started looking through it. She put the glass of orange juice and put it to her lips and turned the page. Suddenly she started choking on the juice at the sight she saw in front of her in the paper.
Payal quickly went up to her and patted her one the back, "What happened Khushi?"
"Nothing," she replied. Payal sat back down and
continued to eat her food. Khushi looked through the article and noticed that it
was about Arnav and her dinner last night. There was picture of them dancing,
but Khushi was glad that her face wasn't visible nor did the media know it was
her. They always made a big deal out of everything and assumed way too
much.
Khushi finished her breakfast and left for her office. The receptionist told her to wait in the lobby till the boss arrived. A few minutes Arnav walked in while talking on his Bluetooth. All the employees got up and greeted him, he just nodded his head at them and noticed Khushi sitting in the lobby, "Khushi in my office, 5 minutes," Arnav said and walked up the stairs.
Khushi got up and followed him and knocked on his door, "come in," he said while still talking on his bluetooth, his back towards her. Khushi went in and stood next to his desk. After a few minutes, Arnav finally ended his call and turned. Arnav finally paid attention to what Khushi was wearing; she stood in front of him in knee-length gray dress that had white and black flowers on it. Her hair as in a high ponytail, with only a few strands lying against her cheeks. The knock on the door took him out of his gaze of her.
Aman came in, "Sir, you need you to sign this," he said handing him a paper. Arnav read through it and signed it, then returned it back to Aman. "Thank you," Aman said and left his cabin.
"Come with me," Arnav told Khushi as he stepped out of his office and into the one adjacent to it. Khushi followed him into there.
"This is you're cabin," Arnav said and Khushi nodded. "There's a door over there," Arnav said pointing to the other end of the room, "That connects my room to yours, and next to it is the bathroom."
"Aman will come here in a few minutes to explain some more important things about he we work, and will explain everything to you. After he is gone, print me out the latest news of the Holiday Fashion Show that is happening in London next week, along with all the news of who's competing with us and everything; if you have any questions, ask Aman. Good?" Arnav asked
"Yea Sir," Khushi said.
"Great, come to my office after you're done," saying that, Arnav left and went to his cabin. The wall between their cabins was made of glass, so they could easily is what each of them were doing.
A few minutes later Aman came and explained everything to Khushi. After he left, she started researching about the Holiday Fashion Show. After 3 hours, Khushi felt like she had found everything she needed to know. She printed it all out, and went to towards Arnav's office. "May I come in Sir?" she asked knocking on his door.
"Yes," he said. Khushi went inside and Arnav motioned her to sit down, so she did.
"Here's all the information Sir," Khushi said handing him the papers. Arnav spent a few minutes looking through and was impressed by how detailed she had gone.
"This looks good Khushi," he said still flipping through the pages. He spent the next few hours discussing with her the information she had found out and analyzing it, Khushi was taking notes as he spoke.
It was around one o'clock when they heard a knock on the door. "Come in," Arnav said looking up from the documents.
"Woh Chotte, you had forgotten you're lunch---- Khushiji aap!!" Anjali exclaimed once she noticed the woman that was sitting in front of her brother. Khushi looked up and smiled at her.
"What are you doing here?" Anjali asked
"Di, she's new here and works as a fashion designer and my personal secretary for me," Arnav said. Anjali went up pulled Khushi in for a hug, "I'm so happy for you, now we'll be able to see each other even more."
"What do you mean more Di? She works for me not you," Arnav said
"Chotte, forget it. You won't understand," Anjali said and Arnav just rolled his eyes.
"Here, I brought you lunch and it's a lot. So share it with Khushi and maybe you guys could eat together," Anjali said
"No Di, it's okay, I'll get something on my own," Khushi said not wanting to bother Arnav.
"No Khushi, it's okay. You can eat with me, we've been bust for wuite a long time," Arnav said, not knowing why he was even offering. Anjali noticed this; her brother was never this nice to anyone before, what had gotten into him.
"Okay bye, I'll get going now," Anjali said and was about to leave, when something caught her eye.
Hmmm Anjali just wants to play matchmaker...
