Chapter 12: Forgiven

After Khushi had run out of Arnav's office she went and stood by the glass window. She had tears running down her eyes. No one had yelled at her or been so rude to her in her entire life. So why did he think that he could do that? Why didn't he just listen to her once? For the past few days that she had known him, she had never seen this side of him.

After a few minutes, Khushi wiped the tears off her eyes and decided to get back to work before she got into anymore trouble. She turned around only to bump in to something solid and loose her balance.

Arnav quickly grabbed her waist before she fell down, Khushi automatically put her hands on her shoulder. Arnav noticed her eyes were slightly red due to crying, he felt so bad. What was he doing here? Khushi thought. Hadn't he said enough already or was he here to accuse her of something else.
Arnav pulled her up to a standing position and let go of her. Khushi straightened her dress and quickly tried to go around him as quickly as possible. She had only taken two step until she felt a tug on her wrist, she looked back and noticed that Arnav was holding her hand with his back to her.

"Sir, please let go," Khushi said trying to be polite. But Arnav acted as if he had heard it in one ear, and it went out the other. Khushi tried to pull her wrist free, but it just caused his grip to get tighter.

"Arnav let go!" Khushi said sounding more annoyed now. The next few seconds were too fast for Khushi to even understand what happened; Arnav had pulled her hand back with a jerk and she was now in front of him with her back to the glass window. Khushi tried to move to the left, but Arnav put his hand there; then she tried to move to the right and he repeated the same thing. She was now trapped against the window with Arnav standing in front of her, and no way to escape.

"Khushi look..." Arnav said but Khushi was just staring at the ground.

"When I'm talking, I don't like people to look away!!" he said angrily.
Khushi quickly looked up at him with fear filled in her eyes. Arnav sighed to himself, he was again being rude. He moved his thumb to her face and slowly wiped off the tears that were now making their way down her cheeks. Khushi felt his thumbs on her face and closed her eyes feeling the sensation. Her heart was pounding really fast and she swore that he could probably hear it. Only thing was that he couldn't hear hers' because the same thing was happening to him.

After wiping her tears off, Arnav cupped her face and tilted her head up so their eyes met.

"Khushi I'm really sorry for what I did. I didn't know that Natasha had told you how to make my coffee," Arnav said

"You could've asked me before assuming that much," Khushi replied

"I know, it's just that I already was mad since the fashion show in London got rescheduled for 2 days earlier than usual. So I got very stressed out and didn't think before talking," Arnav said. They let go of eachother.

"Oh," was all Khushi managed to say. An awkward silence filled the air and neither of them knew what to say.

"So what happened do the coffee? Did it not have enough creamer?" Khushi asked trying to fill the silence

"No, it's not that'.." Arnav said

"So then it probably didn't have enough sugar. I knew it! She said 3 teaspoons and I thought it was too less because I drink mine with 4 teaspoons. Like how can people not like sugar? It's the best thing ever!!" Khushi jabbered on. Arnav was happy that she was at least back to her bubble, talkative self.

"No, it's not that'." Arnav said again

"Then what is it?" Khushi asked

"The thing is that I'm actually diabetic," Arnav said only to see Khushi's eyes opening wide. He had expected her to make fun of him, but she did that exact opposite.

"What?! You're diabetic? Hai Devi Maiyya! What is something had happened to you? What is you fainted to due to the high sugar? Oh my! Why am I so careless? I'm so sorry Arnav. I really am," Khushi blabbered on and on, Arnav thought she'd never shut up so he silenced her by putting his finger in her lips and cupping her cheek with his other hand.

"Ssshhh Khushi," he said silencing her and her eyes opened wide like saucers looking down at his finger on her lips. Arnav amused by her expression smirked.

"It's okay. I'm fine. Since I don't take sugar usually, it won't make a difference if I did it once. You don't have to worry about anything right now, just remember it next time," he said. Khushi nodded her head up and down like a little child. Arnav moved his finger along the bottom half of her lip in a slow motion. Khushi felt at tingling sensation in her stomach. He caressed her lip till his finger reached the corner and slowly started moving forward. Was he about to kiss her?! Khushi thought. She was kind of shocked, but at the same time liked the thought. She tilted her head to the right and gripped his shoulders while moving toward him.

Arnav could smell the vanilla scent her perfume was giving off and loved it. He cupped both of her cheeks and rubbed his thumbs in circular motion on them, making Khushi close her eyes. Khushi could feel his breath on her lips and held on to him even tighter feeling her knees about to go weak. Their lips were only a few inches apart and Arnav was about to move a bit forward to make their lips meet only to hear'knock knock at the door.

Khushi opened her eyes in utter shock. She looked into Arnav's eyes and then at the position they were. She quickly let go of his shoulders and turned her back towards him in complete embarrassment.
"Khushi'" Arnav started off only to be interrupted again with'knock knock. Arnav groaned in anger at the timing of this person. Couldn't they just have come a little bit later?

"Come in," he said. Just then Natasha walked in. Arnav felt his anger rising just at the sight of her, she was the reason he had got mad at Khushi

"Oh Sir, you're here? I was actually here to talk with the new fashion designer," she said. Natasha looked up at Khushi who had her back towards her. She probably gotten yelled at by Sir, no wonder he's so angry right now. She thought and smiled.

"Natasha, in my office. Now," Arnav said fiercely and started his making his way out of Khushi's cabin. Before he stepped out he looked back at Khushi's figure that was still standing where it had originally been.

"Khushi..." he said and she turned around to meet his gaze with her eyes. He noticed the beetroot red color of her cheeks that were there due to embarrassment, "'..come to my office in like 5 minutes. We have to talk about this."

"This?" Khushi asked worried and felt her face heat up.

"Yea 'this''." Arnav said, "the fact that the fashion show has been moved to earlier."

"Oh that,"Khushi said
"Yea, why? Did you think it was something else?"he asked teasingly.

"No! Wh..why would I thin think other..wise?"Khushi asked stuttering with her words. Arnav liked the affect he was having on her.

"Ok, see you,"he said and walked out before winking at her only to hear her gasp behind him. He walked into his cabin and noticed Natasha standing next to the table.

"Natasha, try to find yourself a new job, because you will no longer be
working here,"he said walking up to her.

"But why ASR? What have I done?"she asked

"Oh. Don't try to act so innocent now. I know you lied to Khushi about what to do so that she would get in trouble,"Arnav said.

"She told you?"Natasha asked

"No she didn't. And it doesn't matter how I found out, the consequence will be the same,"Arnav said fiercely.

"So it's all her fault,"Natasha said rolling her eyes and stepped closer to Arnav.

"No it isn't! It is actually all your fault. I want you out of this office now and never show your face here again," Arnav said but Natasha wasn't paying any attention. She ran her finger along his arm slowly and rested it on his shoulder, "Are you sure Arnav?"she said moving even closer.

Arnav didn't like what she was and quickly grabbed her hand and removed it from his shoulder,"Get your hands off of me!"

"I really like you a lot Arnav. Why don't you understand that. You're the perfect guy and woman would want to marry; you're smart, nice, rich, caring, good looking and own such a big business. Why don't you want to be in a relationship with me? I love you a lot," she said and went towards him again but Arnav only stepped back.

"I don't care if you like me or love me. But I will NEVER be able to love you, or at the least even like you,"Arnav said,"A cheap girl like you."

"So it's all that girls fault? Right? She's the one who got in the way," Natasha said

"That 'girl' has a name,"Arnav said,"It's Khushi."

"I don't care what her name is, but I won't let her get in between us," Natasha said and put her hands around his neck. Arnav was about to speak when he heard the sound of bangels clanking and looked towards the door to see Khushi standing there with her eyes wide and a single tear making a way down her cheeks, She didn't know why, but she felt terrible seeing Arnav with another girl. A girl who he was holding closely to himself.

"Great timing,"Natasha said,"I was just telling ASR how much I love him and you wouldn't be a problem to our relationship."

"Of course not. Why would it matter to me, Arnav doesn't m..m..mea'mean anythi'anything to'm..me," Khushi said with great difficulty. She didn't know why, but she felt a strong tug on her heart as she said that.
Arnav couldn't stand seeing Khushi in tears and quickly pushed off Natasha,

"I said get off of me!"he said

"Don't worry ASR, she knows about our relationship now. No need to hide and pretend it to her,' Natasha said placing a hand on his shoulders. Arnav looked back at her with anger filled eyes and Natasha stepped back. He then heard the sound of bangles and noticed Khushi wiping away another tear.

"I think I came at the wrong time, I'll come again," Khushi said and turned around to leave. But she felt a tug on her arm and the next thing she knew, her back was clashing against Arnav's hard toned chest.
