Chapter 17: Pacifying Him
Arnav's hands automatically went around her slim waist as she landed on him. Khushi placed her hands on his shoulder for support. Her head was lying right against his, and some of her hair was covering his face. She slowly moved back and looked up at him. Damn, could she make this more difficult than it should, Arnav thought to himself as her body against his was creating havoc inside him. Khushi looked away from him embarrassed and tried not to make eye contact. Arnav moved his hand forward towards her face and pushed a piece of hair behind her ear. The warm touch of Arnav's hand on her cheek and then behind her ear made Khushi burn on the inside.
"Khushi do you plan on staying here the rest of the flight? Because if you do, I surely don't mind," Arnav whispered into her ear with a mischievous tone.
Khushi tried to get back up. But there wasn't enough room for her to get up, since the seat in front of them was so close to Arnav's. She tried again, but still couldn't get out. She looked up at Arnav who hadn't noticed her trying to get up.
"So should I take that as a yes?" he asked tightening his grip around her waist.
"N..n..no. Woh'" Khushi said.
"Woh kya Khushi?" Arnav whispered into her ear.
"I'I can't'." Khushi said but was distracted by Arnav's breath on her ear.
"You can't what?" Arnav asked moving his face lower so that his breath was on her neck. Khushi took in breath and felt a tingling sensation in her stomach. So she is affected by me, Arnav thought to himself.
"I can't'g..get out," Khushi managed to say with her eyes tightly shut. Next thing she knew, Arnav moved the arm rest that was between their seats up, and slid her on to her seat. Khushi straightened herself up in her seat and looked at Arnav, "Thanks," she said.
"My pleasure," Arnav said with a smirk on his face and went back to reading his magazines. He would ever so often look back up at Khushi to see what she was doing. Khushi took out a book and started reading it. After a few hours, Khushi finally finished the book and looked up at Arnav, who was staring at her.
"What?" she asked him.
"Nothing," he said smiling.
"Then why are you smiling" Khushi asked.
"Just because," he said.
"Because'.?" Khushi said.
"My mouth, I can do whatever I want with it," Arnav said.
"Yes. Of course, you're Arnav Singh Raizada and can do anything you want," Khushi said sarcastically.
"Yea, do you have a problem with that?" Arnav asked raising his eyebrow slightly.
"No, why would I have a problem with that. I'm just an employee of yours," Khushi said and looked back out the window.
"But you could be a lot more than that," Arnav said and saw Khushi stiffen. Khushi had heard it, but decided not to reply.
"Khushi did you hear me?" he asked.
"Yes, I did," Khushi replied back with some anger in her tone, "But I need time to think, I've already told you that!"
"Hmmp," was all Arnav managed to say feeling a bit of pain in his heart from her harsh tone. He was having a difficult time trying to stay away from her and didn't know for how much longer he would be able to last like that. The rest of the flight was filled with silence. Khushi was just staring out the window and Arnav was thinking to himself.
An hour later the lady over the intercom informed them that they would be landing, so they should put on their seat belts. Arnav looked at Khushi who was staring out the window, he instantly put his hand on hers knowing how worried she had gotten during the beginning of the flight. Khushi felt the heat of his hand on hers, and looked up at him. But he was looking the other way. Maybe I was really rude to him, Khushi thought.
Arnav was looking the other way, because he didn't want for her to feel bad. He knew that if she saw him, then she would feel bad and try to make it up. But he didn't want her to do that, he wanted for her agree only if she wanted to. The flight landed and all the passengers removed their handbags from the shelves. Arnav got out his and Khushi's bags and then looked at her, "Khushi let's go."
"Arnav I need to talk to you," she said.
"Khushi we can talk later, everyone is getting off the plane so hurry up," Arnav said and walked down the aisle towards the exit of the plane. He looked back to see if Khushi was behind him, but she was still standing near her seat.
"Khushi, please come on," he said startling Khushi from her thoughts. Khushi looked at him, and then nodded. She looked up in their shelf, "My handbag?" she asked.
"I've got it," Arnav said and started walking again. Khushi followed him out of the exit. They took the elevator to the ground floor and collected their baggage. Khushi was about to take her baggage by herself, but Arnav just took it from her and walked out towards the exit of the airport, "Come on," he said to her as her walked.
Khushi had noticed that he hadn't uttered a single word other than that since they had gotten off. She now felt really bad for what she had said to him earlier. He was trying so hard to get her to agree, and all she did was make him feel bad. They went outside and Arnav started looking around.
"Arnav, I'" Khushi started off but was interrupted by him.
"Khushi, there's the car the Maan sent for us with a driver," Arnav said pointing to a car, "Let's go," he said and started walking but felt a tug on his arm; he looked back and saw Khushi holding it.
"Mr. Raizada I need to talk to you," she said fiercely.
"We can do that when we get home, let's go now," Arnav said shrugging of her hand and went towards the car with an angry Khushi following him.
The driver took their luggage and put it in the car. Arnav went and opened the door in the back of the car for her to sit. He looked up at her, "Do plan on spending the entire night here standing in the middle of a parking lot?" he asked her.
Khushi blew away the piece of hair that was getting in her face and angrily sat in the car. Arnav just chuckled to himself and followed her into the car and sat beside her. He knew that he was being a bit too rude to her, but he needed for her to understand what he was going through. The driver started driving. Khushi was feeling a bit sleepy and started yawning. She started dozing off into sleep and Arnav just stared at her. There was bump on the road that caused the car to jump a little; Arnav automatically put his hand between Khushi's head and the window, not wanting her to get hurt. He took her head and placed it on his shoulder, letting her sleep till they reached the house.
"Khushi, we're here," Arnav said as the driver pulled the car into the gate of the house; he looked back at Khushi and noticed that she was still sleeping. He patted her on the cheek, "Khushi wake up."
Khushi stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes, "But I want to sleep," she whined and put her head back on his shoulders. Arnav just rolled his eyes, she was so childish at times.
"Khushi it's 4 a.m, just get up, we will find you a room in the house and then you can go to sleep," Arnav said getting out of the car. The servants came and removed their luggage from the car and took them inside. He looked back at Khushi and pulled her out of the car, because she herself didn't want to do that.
"Arnav let me sleep," she said again and stood there, not willing to move. Arnav had no other option but to put on arm behind her upper back, one under her knees and carry her towards the house. Khushi automatically put her hands around his neck for support and opened one of her eyes lazily, "You're sooo nice," she said.
Arnav just smiled and carried her inside the house and looked at the servant.
"Sir has arranged rooms for you both upstairs. He said he will meet you in the morning," the servant said and started walking upstairs. Arnav followed him with Khushi still in his arms.
The servant opened the door to a room, and let them in with another servant coming in with their luggage.
"This is Madam's room," he said and then went over to a door that was in the room. He opened it and said, "This is a bathroom, and through it is another door that connects your room with hers. Hope you don't mind, we currently don't have a single guest rooms since Bhabiji's Aunt is staying in it."
"It's ok, we'll manage," Arnav said.
"If you need anything, please let us know," the servant said, Arnav nodded and the servant left.
Arnav went over to the bed and placed Khushi on it, he was moving back when she felt a tug on his collar. He looked down and noticed that Khushi was gripping on to his shirt, he looked up at her noticed that she was slightly awake.
"I'm sorry," she said sitting up.
"It's ok Khushi, we'll talk about it tomorrow," Arnav said and removed her hands from his collar and put them on her sides. He was about to leave when he felt a tug on his hand and he looked back at Khushi sitting next to her. She put her hands around his neck pulling him closer, "I really am sorry," she whispered and moved towards him...
